Lake Harriet Arts & Crafts

This beautiful but neglected south Minneapolis home was returned to its Arts & Crafts roots. On the exterior, the front entry and terrace were redesigned and a vaulted rear porch added, using elements of the original design. A new, well-detailed garage complements the handsome exterior of the home. Inside, a new kitchen with custom oak cabinetry opens up to the porch with beautiful French doors. A seamless extension of the main staircase to the attic connects the home to a new guest suite with light filled dormers. The entire home appears as it might have been when originally built, yet every space was transformed with sensitivity and harmony. This home, which received a 2009 BLEND Award for respecting the character of the neighborhood, was a favorite on the 2007 Remodelers Showcase Tour.
