Surly Brewing

Peterssen/Keller worked closely with Surly owner Omar Ansari to develop a conceptual design for their latest endeavor—a destination brewery. The plan calls for a 250-seat restaurant overlooking a 60,000 square-foot brewery and opening onto an expansive terraced beer garden. Exterior water features, an amphitheater and fire pit will create a dynamic, one-of-a-kind dining experience. An upper level event center will provide a premier gathering space for the Twin Cities.

Sustainable design will be integral to the design—including the use of local materials, a green roof, solar panels, and possibly a windmill.
